Notes
Jean Lumb participates in a parade float styled on the theme of "Mulan Joins the Army" 木蘭從軍 , the title of 1927, 1928 and 1939 film adaptations of the Mulan legend. The legend is based on a poem from the Northern and Southern dynasties about a young girl named Mulan, who disguises herself as a man to take her elderly father’s place in the army and leads the army of China to victory over the enemy. The parade and float celebrate the end of the Sino-Japanese War.

Lumb stands second from the left in the row of six women warriors.
