John Busato; 26; of Markham (left) and three other welders scrambled 120 feet up stairs to save their lives when fire broke out; caused by molten slag from a welder s torch falling down an elevator shaft about 50 feet to a floor that was being waterproofed with avolatile; tar-based substance.
