Original Toronto Star caption: High in the sky-for $13.40 an hour. High in the open trelliswork of Hydro towers at the Richview Transformer Station at Highway 27 and Dixon Rd., Hydro workman wait as one of team traverses a heavy cable 100 feet above the ground connecting two of the towers yesterday. The linemen, who earn $13.40 and hour for work on Sundays, were moving lines on the towers to make way for more 220,000-volt lines. Hydro men recently won a 13.9 per cent wage boost, and company says rates are going up.
