Original Toronto Star caption: A workman climbed out of a manhole with his clothes in flames when a short circuit in electrical equipment apparently ignited methane gas in a manhole at Bay and Queen sts. today. He was rushed to the special burn unit at Wellesley Hospital. Power to buildings in the area had to be shut off to stop the cables form arcing. Firefighters smothered the flames with carbon dioxide.
