Amadis is born from a forbidden liason between a Queen of England and the king of the fictional land of Gaula. Raised in secret in Scotland, Amadis becomes a knight and encounters wizards, enchanted islands and true love.
This medieval, chivalric romance was written in the early 14th century by a Portuguese knight. The earliest surviving edition of the text is from the 16th Century. It was arranged and printed in Spain by the author Garci Rodriguez de Montalvo.
