Edward Evelyn is the story of a boy and his father who were fugitives from the battle of Culloden.
The second story, The peasant's tale, was first published by Cundall in 1842 under the title: Cottage traditions or The peasant's tale of ancestors.
The two plates are engraved by W.G. Mason.
