Notes
"The cautious mother" tells of a mother who examined the most childish story-book before she permitted her children to read it. "She never scrupled to sacrifice the beauty of a new purchase by freely cutting out as many leaves as contained passages likely to give them false ideas or to corrupt their innocence."
