Original Toronto Star caption: A bed in a corridor at Northwestern General Hospital is the only space that has been available for days for patient Edward Saddle; due to desperate overcrowding of hospital facilities in Toronto. Today; he was the only patient still in a corridor bed; but on other days many patients must be accomodated in the halls for lack of room in the 246-bed hospital at Keele and Lawrence Aves. The hospital's two-room emergency department can hold only seven stretchers.
